Training Skills
- Tip: In Quest for Glory 2: Trial by Fire the master from the ring (Djinni)
can improve any of your skills by wishing for "prowess" and entering
the skill name. You can also wish for a skill that you don't yet know.
| 2.1 Strength |
| In general: |
Do everything that moves your character (fighting, climbing, throwing, etc.) |
| QG1(NEW) |
Go to the screen where you can find the antwerp bouncing.
Cast flame dart, throw dagger, whatever. Just make it
disappear. Then unlock the rock door and use the hand
icon on it until it opens. Now your strenght should be
something like 36. Then use the hand icon on the
already opened door (not the 'black hole') and watch
your strenght climb up! |
| QG3 |
1 In Simbani village, go to the training area. Click
hand icon on the pole and watch your strength climb up.
2 Go to the savanna/jungle, pick up hundreds of good
throwing rocks and throw them anywhere on the screen.
If your stamina gets low, drink some water from the
Pool of Peace. This will replenish your stamina. |
| QG4 |
Train strength in Adventurer's Guild in Mordavia with
the training machine. Add weight whenever it is needed. |

| 2.2 Intelligence |
| In general: |
Casting spells improves your intelligence. |
| QG3 |
Play awari game with Yesufu in the Simbani village.
If he says that he won't play anymore, because of the
cattle, just keep clicking on the awari table and he will
play again with you. |

| 2.3 Agility |
| In general: |
Climbing, fighting and balancing |
| QG2 |
When the dude that will pay you for crossing the rope
comes to Fighters' Plaza, give him a dinar and climb
up. Stay on the line and press left and right arrows.
There is no need to use up/down keys. You won't
probably be able to walk the rope if your agility
skill is worse than 110. |
| QG3 |
In the Simbani village you can train agility by
climbing on the log and walking it to the other end.
Do this 100-200 times and your agility is in 300.
I noticed that when thieves walk on the log and their
skill is about 200, a sort of panel will appear after
climbing up the rope. Click on these icons and it is
a lot easier to train agility. |

| 2.4 Vitality |
| In general: |
Vitality cannot be boosted (At least I think so) by itself.
Fighting, climbing and just training other skills improves
your vitality. |
Top of Page
| 2.5 Luck |
| In general: |
There aren't any great single sources for luck. But one
way to improve luck (and intelligence) is to play awari with
Yesufu in Quest for Glory 3. Also fighting, picking locks
and just practising other skills improves luck.
Also a good way to improve luck is to parry and
dodge. This also improves a whole bunch of your skills. |

| 2.6 Magic |
| In general: |
In general: What do you think? Maybe by casting spells.
Training this skill is very boring. But every time
before resting, use all your mana for casting spells. |
Top of Page
| 2.7 Communicate |
| In general: |
Talk with people. |
| QG3 |
1 Click the talk icon on a person. Put some weight on
your Enter key and make sure that there will be
some communication (cursor is on a list item)
2 In QFG3 in the simbani villiage INSIDE the hut click the
talk cursor on the hut wall near/on/around the zebraskin.
This will SUPER boost your communticate skill with ease!
|
| QG4 : |
Talking to others won't help. So why don't you talk
yourself. Click the talk icon on yourself and do the
same trick. |
Top of Page
| 2.8 Weapon Use |
| In general: |
Fight..
|
| Notes : |
Fighting increases a whole bunch of your skills.
For example agility, luck, vitality and strength. |
Top of Page
| 2.9 Parry, Dodge |
| In general: |
While fighting, practice. This seems to be very easy in
all Quest for Glory games. Just keep clicking on the
Parry/Dodge icon/key and it will get better quite fast. |
Top of Page
| 2.10 Stealth |
| In general: |
Sneak |
| QG1,2 |
Type sneak. |
| QG1new,3,4 |
Select special skills/info menu from command bar,
select sneak icon. |
Top of Page
| 2.11 Pick Locks |
| In general: |
Every time you bump into a door, try picking the
lock. Also, try to click the lockpick on yourself or
type "pick nose". This might kill you if your skill
is less than 40. |
| QG1 : |
You can pick the houses' locks in the town at night,
even when they are banned from inside. Don't be too
greedy or you'll be arrested. Also pick your nose.
|
| QG3 : |
Pick the lock on the chest in your inn room. |
| QG4 : |
1) You can increase lockpicking skill even during the
day. Go to the burgomeister's office and click the
lockpick set on the door and hold it there until all
stamina is gone. Your skill should go up about 10
points even though the door never opens (unless the
gypsy is in it). It takes a while to get the skill up,
but if you get ten points a day you should get to 400
fairly fast.
2) Go to the Thieves' Guild (from the Adventurer's
Guild). Click the hand icon on the safe and choose
"crack safe". Do this very many times. |

| 2-12 Throwing |
| In general: |
Leave town, go to forest/desert/jungle, pick up a
few hundred rocks and throw 'em. This is probably
the easiest skill to train to maximum. Of course,
there are other ways to practice throwing. For
example, in QG1 you can go to the archery range and
throw your daggers to the board, in QG3 you can
practice throwing in Simbani village (throw to
the target) but these ways are really slow. |
Top of Page
| 2.13 Climbing |
| In general: |
Climb all trees, ladders, ropes and everything you
might find on your quest for glory. |
| QG1 : |
Outside the Healer's house, climb the tree (this
trains your skill only to 83.
You can also practice climbing on the town walls at
night. Just climb 'em up and down and your skill will
get to about 90.
Next, when you are on the brigand doors (after killing
the two guards) climb up and down the mountain
(rocks) and this will improve your skill to 100. |
| QG2 : |
Buy the magic rope from Keapon Laffin and climb that. |
| QG4 : |
Climb the forest trees (easiest way), you can also
climb the town gate at night plus the monastery wall. |
Top of Page
| 2.14 Acrobatics (QG4 only) |
| In general: |
Jump around. Click acrobatics icon on the special
skills/statistics window. The easiest way is just
keep that enter key down in the forest. |
Top of Page
| 2.15 Honor |
| In general: |
Do everything heroic. |
| QG2 : |
1) Go to the flower katta and bargain for flowers. After
loading up on about a gross (144) of flowers at a time
bring them to any female character (for example Uhura)
in the game and start giving the flowers away.
Just have to keep hitting the space bar and enter for a
while and make several trips. Bargaining also improves
your communication and intelligence at the same time.
2) Go to Julanar in the desert and hug tree many times.
This boosts your honor up, but must be done before you
have got the fruit of compassion.
3) After day 12 when you have solved the Julanar quest,
go see Julanar in the desert and thank her (thank Julanar)
This will boost your honor up.
4) This trick requires some money. Just go outside the
inn and type 'Give centime' near the beggar or the
musician. You won't lose many dinars and this is an
'honest' way.. |
| QG3 : |
There are 4 good ways to improve honor in QG3.
1) To to bazaar, go down and seek Kalb's meat store.
Bargain the price to 1 and buy 300-400 meat pieces.
After Harami has asked you to help him and meet him
at night, go to the bazaar at night and give him all
the meat. This will improve honor to 300.
2) The alternative way to improve your honor is to
keep using your money pouch on Harami. He won't accept
the cash. But anyway this will "pump" your honor to 300.
3) In the bazaar, click your money pouch on the
drummer's bowl. This is also honorable, but this will
cost you 10 commons each time when you click on it.
4) After completing the drum quest, go and talk to
Laibon. Say Thank You many, many times and watch
you honor slowly climb. |
| QG4 : |
1) First go to the castle entrance. Talk to the
gatekeeper and ask him about his ex-wife. He will tell
you something stupid. Then go to the store in Mordavia.
Talk to the shopkeeper about his husband. She will tell
you something. Go talk to Boris (the gatekeeper). Tell
him what his ex-wife told you. Run between these two
places until they say nothing new to each other.
Your honor will raise by about 10-20.
2) Pick up some flowers. Go to Rusalka. Give her these
flowers you just picked up. Go away picking some more
flowers. Give her another bouquet of flowers. She says
they are nice but she won't take them. Keep clicking
the flowers on Rusalka and watch your honor climb. |

| 2.16 Stamina, Health, Mana |
| In general: |
Sleep |
| QG3 : |
Go to the Heart of the World Tree and climb. Enjoy
the free refill there and climb down to go back to spell
casting, throwing, etc. |
| QG4 : |
Ignore your stamina (except in battles) and focus on
climbing, acrobatics, lock picking, etc. Even though
stamina will go down to 0, you'll still live and find
your health going down instead. To completely refill
health, sleep on it. Preferably at Erana's staff or
garden. |
